About Matt
Executive Coach | Peer Group Facilitator | Insights Discovery® Facilitator
Hi. I’m Matt Jackson. I live in North Vancouver with my wife and four daughters and bring over 25 years of international leadership experience to my work — including leadership roles with five Olympic Games and five more as a consultant and advisor. I also served as a senior leader at lululemon, where I worked at the intersection of brand and operations to grow and lead the global events team, delivering world-class experiences that brought the brand’s purpose to life and built deep community connection.
Looking back on my career, two things have been constant drivers: a genuine passion for learning about leadership, and a deep motivation to help others succeed. These are what led me to the executive coaching program at Royal Roads University and launch my coaching and leadership development practice, grounded in a people-first leadership philosophy.
Today, I partner with motivated executives, senior leaders, and entrepreneurs who want to lead with greater clarity, intentionality, and care. I help them navigate the real-world challenges of leadership while becoming more courageous, self-aware, and effective in how they show up and lead.
What I bring to my work:
25+ years of leadership experience across global sport and business
Leadership roles at five Olympic Games, and advisor to five more
Senior leader at lululemon, where I grew and led the global events team

Deep expertise in team dynamics, self-awareness, and mental fitness
Certified Insights Discovery facilitator, Leadership Circle 360 practitioner and Positive Intelligence (PQ) coach

Ideal Clients & Outcomes
I work with leaders and teams who are motivated to become the best version of themselves — not just for personal growth, but to elevate and extend their impact. They care deeply about results, but not at the expense of people. They’re committed to a human-centred approach to leadership — one that values clarity, care, and intention just as much as performance.
Many of my clients come from strong technical or operational backgrounds. Much of their success has been built on deep expertise — and they’re now stepping into more senior or executive roles where what’s required is shifting. They’re learning how to lead through others, influence across the organization, and show up with the presence and perspective that strategic leadership demands.
The outcomes we work toward together often include:
Greater confidence and clarity in high-stakes leadership moments
Stronger communication and relational awareness
Increased ability to navigate conflict, complexity, and change
A more grounded, values-aligned leadership presence
And ultimately, the ability to create lasting impact
Whether they’re navigating transition, leading through change, or simply ready to grow, my clients are looking for honest partnership, practical tools, and space to do the real inner work of leadership.
My Coaching Framework
I subscribe to a simple but powerful leadership model:
Leadership of Self → Leadership of Others → Leadership of the Organization
In my experience, the last two get most of our attention. We spend time learning how to manage people, influence teams, and navigate complex systems. And while those are critical skills, we often take the first domain — Leadership of Self —for granted.
But everything starts there.
Our ability to lead others and shape organizations is directly tied to how well we lead ourselves — especially when the pressure is high, the path is unclear, or the stakes are personal.
Through years of leading and more recently coaching, I’ve come to believe that Leadership of Self rests on three essential pillars:
Self-Awareness
Purpose & Vision
Mental Fitness
Self-awareness is often called the foundation of great leadership — and it is. But it’s not the whole story. I’ve worked with many leaders who are highly self-aware. They can name their blind spots, articulate their triggers, and still feel stuck.
Why? Because awareness alone doesn’t create change.
What often holds us back is a lack of clarity around:
What we’re here to do and where we’re headed (Purpose & Vision)
And our mindset and specifically the internal patterns that keep us in self-protection mode — like perfectionism, people-pleasing, control, or imposter syndrome (Mental Fitness)
That’s why my coaching focuses first on the inner work of leading self — so leaders can consistently show up with greater clarity, confidence, and intentionality.
Because when we start there, everything else becomes more effective, sustainable, and human
